Guido Loconsolo

INTRODUCTION

Italian bass baritone Guido Loconsolo was a member of the Young Artists Program of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan until June of 2007. During his time at La Scala, he appeared as Guglielmo in Cosi Fan Tutte, the Count in Le nozze di Figaro, and Paolo in a concert performance of Simon Boccanegra, conducted by Daniele Gatti.

CAREER

Guido Loconsolo has been acclaimed for his performances at many of the world’s leading opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera, Teatro alla Scala, Berlin State Opera, Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, Rome Opera, Teatro Real inMadrid, Teatro Regio in Turin, and Semperoper Dresden.

Highlights from previous and future seasons include: Belcore in L’elisir d’amore at the Berlin State Opera and Opéra de Lille in France, Il Cavaliere di Belfiore in Un Giorno di Regno for his debut at the Teatro Regio in Parma; Leporello in Don Giovanni for his debut at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, staged by Dmitri Tchenriakov and conducted by Teodor Courentzis, Ford in Falstaff at Glyndebourne Festival, conducted by Vladimir Jurowski, Leporello in Don Giovanni at the Semperoper Dresden and Perm Opera; Achilla in Giulio Cesare in Egitto for his debut at the Metropolitan Opera, the title role in Le nozze di Figaro at the Teatro Regio in Turin and Glyndebourne Festival, Marcello in La bohème at the Ópera de Bellas Artes in Mexico, Publio in La Clemenza di Tito for his debut at the Teatro Real di Madrid, Selim in Il turco in Italia at the Bergen National Opera in Norway, followed by Le nozze di Figaro (Figaro) at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, Don Giovanni (Leporello) at New Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv, L’elisir d’amore (Belcore) at Dresden Semperoper, Die Zauberflöte (Papageno) at Festival di Macerata (new production by Graham Vick), Sigismondo (Zenovito) with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester in Munich, Il barbiere di Siviglia (Don Basilio ) at Teatro Regio in Parma, Don Giovanni (Leporello) at Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Ermione ( Fenicio) at Teatro San Carlo in Napoli  and Il turco in Italia (Selim) at Opéra de Liège.
